India owns one of the oldest civilization called Indusvalley civilization. A republic nation, having 1600
speaking languages and different cultures.
St. Thomas, one the disciples of Jesus Christ came to India in AD 52 and became martyre by Hindus.
Many Missionaries from all over the world have come to India and have made remarkable chanages. But there are 600000 villages
are yet to hear about Christ.
Everyday more than 25000 people are dying in India and most of them have not heard about Christ.
Hindu religion(major religion with 80% population) has 36000000 gods and godesses. Till
AD 52, the coming of St. Thomas, none were aware of Christ in India. India is under the control of superstition and Idol worship.
Human sacrifices under the influence of Hindu religious worship leaders(Pujaris) are still being done in villages
and slums to appease their gods and godesses.
With the regular and valuable contribution of various Christian organizations, millions
of people have come to Christ. Jesus is building his chruch in India as he said "I will build my church and the gates
of hades will not prevail it".
Now more than 12% of the population in India is Christian, which was only 5% in 1999. Thousands of
people are coming to Christ everyday. As none can stop the process of rising and setting down of the Sun, no power can
stop the work of God in India.....
Harvest is plenteous but laborers are few. We pray to God for raising up more committed people
to help the work of God in India with their prayers and financial contribution. People in India is a segment of the forthcoming
Kingdom of God and this segment should be saved at any cost.
